SIMONE SIMONTON is an Atlanta based songwriter and drummer, but don’t let the urban association fool you. Her songs are born from pure, authentic country truth and soul. In 2002, Simone became a founding member of Sugarland, co-writing the songs Baby Girl, Down In Mississippi, Speed Of Life and Fly Away. In 2006, she started the band South 70, where she was the drummer and primary songwriter. South 70 performed and recorded together for five years, building a strong and loyal following, opening for Miranda Lambert, Gretchen Wilson, Chris Young and Styx, among others.
